This fails for me in group chat too, on Second Life 3.7.28 (300918) Apr 14 2015 17:06:20 (Second Life Release)
It has never worked properly for me since I filed CHUIBUG-113 When right clicking on the group name in the conversation list -> Chat History, the Chat History option is either greyed out or it's active but when clicked, nothing happens, the chat history does not open. Going to Communicate -> Conversation log shows the chat histories are available here for the group chats and they can be opened.

Steps to Reproduce
Actual Behavior
nothing happened after clicking 'Chat history' option and that option becomes greyed out after right clicking again (see screenshot multiperson_history.png).
Expected Behavior
'Chat history' option should be enabled and opens floater with chat history (see screenshot group_history.png).
Other information
Reproduced on current release viewer 3.7.28.300918. Option works fine for IM, group and nearby chat.
