[BUG-9690] Unknown textures are not loading #17163

Steps to Reproduce

log in, cleaned cache, and so on...

Actual Behavior

Unknown textures are not loading

Expected Behavior

all loading proper

Other information

yes, i had support chat with two agents that not could help... watch their logs... viewer of sl is newest version but i not care to log back on it there no textures loading...

I WASTED TOO MUCH TIME

Heya B1uestar,

I read through your attached support transcript & see that you have the same problem on all viewers (including the LL viewer) where any uncached textures are failing to load.

Hello Whirly,

this Problem started on Monday as i Came home from a week off. since here i always were online around 4 pm German time. Jon could fix it however in the first support chat on monday after a very long wasted time. Yesterday i was at other sims, to pay some rents and check my store, but all stayed grey / some mesh not appeard even after 20 minutes of waiting and relogging, cause i had cleaned cache and all bug killing things a human can do, on monday. And as i told it doesn't matters which viewer, so i stay with the firestorm, it's best organized. Today it was same as monday, well but not stopped and is still the same.

You supporters asked me so much things and wasted my time with no results, so i will make it if you tell me why i have to waste again so much time, i will add you the logs of singularity and secondlife viewer from this week. And i just will waste it when you promise you won't close this case with your standart answer "we are sorry but we cannot reproduce your issue"

i am connecting to the internet via cable and fibre wire. down speed of 200 MB/s (they were all the time given) also an upload speed of 5 MB/s (even that was given) (all that checked by my provider)

This Problem started on Monday lasts already now 3 days.

Thanks for the logs.

The logs show the problem clearly - DNS issues.

The secondlife.log session (LL viewer): This session was on a clean cache.

well the Google DNS helps. BUT please explain why i now have to change my settings after using SecondLife two years without any problems?

since i using Google DNS it is working perfectly.

But you have to explain me, why i have just out of a sudden to change my settings after using sl two years without any problems?

Hi B1uestar,

If switching to Google DNS was the solution, this strongly suggests that your ISP was having DNS issues. What kind exactly, I do not know.

I'm happy to hear that textures are now working properly for you.

Hi Kyle.

No, that cannot be. I asked again the provider if there were any changes that made that necessary, and they gave it me written that there were nothing... So it is something that has to do with you, with LL and SL.

Since this problem still occurs when the original DNS setting is used, we will try to find a concrete explanation for your situation. One type of hostname lookup is failing, asset-cdn.glb.agni.lindenlab.com, and we will focus on it.
