Thanks Whirly, but I'm not sure you're testing what I was trying to report – and that may be because I didn't include the right details? Anyway, I meant using that llSetContentType() sample script in a prim, it should offer to load that URL, and if I do that in the internal browser, I get a window with black contents. (Dragging to select the text inside changes to the selection colors, demonstrating that the text was indeed rendered to the window, but on a black background.)

If that's what you did, I misinterpreted your video, in which case my apologies – and then we'd need to figure out why it behaves this weird way on my machine but not yours, and only for these newer, 5.1-vintage versions.

Hi Qie,

Both 5.1.0 builds you have reported this issue on do have the latest changes to CEF which seems likely related. Does this reproduce on the release version of Second Life?

Also please let us know what your Anti Virus application is. Some AV does not work well with Second Life, or aggressively scans or even blocks some of our newer executables. Literally because they are new and not "known" to the AV world yet.

If you are using Avast, Go to Avast -> Realtime shields -> file system shield -> Expert settings -> exclusions -> add -> browse to the SecondLife Viewer install folder

Do you use a proxy redirector, for example ProxyCap? This can also cause issues with Second Life.

Lastly, we also need your logs. Login, reproduce the issue, then before relaunching the viewer, zip up your viewer logs folder and attach it to this issue using More Actions -> Attach files. This page tells you where to find the logs folder: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-report-a-bug/ta-p/733545#Section_.3

Please add logs and let us know if this reproduces on release, then press Info Provided.

Thanks!

Thanks Kyle.

Antivirus: I just use Windows Defender now (I think I managed to uninstall any remnants of AVG a long time ago).

I don't use a proxy redirector.

As I mentioned in "Expected Behavior," the problem does NOT arise with "Second Life 5.0.7.328060 (Second Life Release)" which I think is the current released version of the viewer.

The logs from the latest run include using the internal browser to see the output of the sample script, shown black-on-black in the latest Alex Ivy RC viewer, 5.1.0.508209 (64bit).

Let me know if there's any more info I can provide.
