[BUG-100891] Force-Sit On Teleport #399

sl-service-account commented 7 years ago

Steps to Reproduce

The fastest way I recreated the bug was by sitting in one sim then double-clicking on the ground to teleport me into another sim. When I double-click TP out of the sim I TPed to it unsits me and my avatar appears to snap back into place from the other sim so it's like the sim sent the unsit to the sim that initiated the sit-TP so naturally upon returning to the initiating sim it was aware of my correct sit status. Do note in general the bug happens just by general teleportation / sim-crossing, however.

Though I do often use non-humanoid avatars this was arising after the fix with humanoid and default avatars. This also hadn't occurred on any of the avatars prior to about April 2017 so I believe its an implemented issue of the SL software. I can determine this as the bug never occurs with the same avatars some which are available on OpenSim so I tested there and there was no bug. The bug is also experienced by people who don't use AOs and on a humanoid avatar so it's an SL-specific and account-specific issue and seemingly not script-related. A script shouldn't be able to disable the sit-toggle anyway. I haven't heard this at all being a bug with the avatars I use specifically either, it's very much an issue with my accounts. Its completely random and happen 1 in 16 times. With the same avatars it never happens on other accounts. Like right now, it doesn't occur. I turn off AO and use human avatar even after relog, it now has happened again after walking across 3 sims.

Actual Behavior

This problem came back again a few days ago. I can also pretty much confirm it wasn't due to AO like Kyle Linden mentioned: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-100762

Sitting then TPing also induces it faster. It's like the previous sim won't remove that my agent has unsit and my avatar appears as invisible/offset when using the male test character. When I force a ground/object sit this behaviour is released but then my avatar moves strangely. I get up again and I can move fine. It only activates on teleportation even from/to no-script areas. https://i.gyazo.com/89cf7b2a7e0383b19ceb3a788307cbe5.png

Clicking stand fast nor slowly works. https://i.gyazo.com/6ebacd4ef36769b042cad2a25d60dd94.mp4 https://i.gyazo.com/61bdb3bfe2f54397d36a4de68faaf20e.mp4

Nametag moves on its own without updating avatar position in the force-sit. https://i.gyazo.com/b6130a4f90bce2bf4a651f57bc254cb9.mp4

Expected Behavior

No force-sit, avatar movement to be correct, no alignment with world locking.

Other information

I also note that on just my account Kiomarou, I sometimes get stuck on region handshake on login. Currently using Firestorm but SL Viewer does the same when clicking the ground sit toggle just the SL Viewer doesn't have a visible toggle like FS has. People can see my avatar moving weirdly so while it affects my account it is visible to others, even those on other viewers. Bug however recurs mostly in Firestorm Viewer but my dedicated GPU has no support for SL Viewer so I cannot use that outside testing.

Hi Kiomarou,

This looks like a duplicate report of BUG-5829 which should have been fixed. I'm investigating further.

Thanks

Firestorm may behave even more oddly then the LL viewer if the Firestorm AO is in use - see issue https://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/FIRE-15779 and linked issues. Though when I last tested this bug, the problem didn't happen when no AO or a HUD based AO was worn. I need to retest on Firestorm though as it appears there has been a regression as this was fixed on the LL viewer a while ago & now it reproduces on the LL viewer again.
