Hi Chronoshindou,
I know you've been working with our support team. Thank you for that. So some of this may be redundant but please bear with us.
If you are logging into Second Life through a Public wi-fi connection with a proxy or portal that requires you to login or accept their Terms of Service before you can fully utilize their internet, you must open a browser and try loading a website like "http://space.com" and then see if the Cafe's portal opens. If so login to that first and then try to log in to Second Life.
If things are still failing please send us your Second Life logs; see https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Finding_Log_Files
Thank you so much for reaching out to us, this particular bug is elusive and we really want to hear from you and help you sort it out, so that we can help solve it for anyone else that may be affected.
Please press the Info Provided button when you update this issue. Thanks!

Hiya chronoshindou,
Please can you answer the following questions Kyle asked above:
Which Firewall & antivirus software are you using on your system?
Are you logging into Second Life through a Public wi-fi connection (e.g. an Internet Cafe) or through a university or college network or are you using a standard home connection?
Please can you attempt to login on the official Linden Lab viewer from https://secondlife.com/support/downloads/ & reproduce the clock login error. Then close the viewer & before you relaunch the viewer, zip up your logs folder & attach it to this JIRA issue using More Actions -> Attach files. This page tells you where to find the logs folder: https://community.secondlife.com/knowledgebase/english/how-to-report-a-bug-r224/Section_.3#Section__3 If you get stuck finding your logs folder, please comment back here.
Additionally:
Can you think of anything that changed at your end that coincided with this problem starting? eg) New computer, moved house, changed ISP, new router/cable modem hardware, changed any router firewall settings, changed antivirus or any other security software, installed any new 3rd party software on your computer ( especially anything that could affect your connection or security settings or anything that describes itself as "Game mode" or "Game optimizer") etc
Do you have more then one computer in the house connected to your home network? If so, are you getting the clock login error on all your computers or just one specific machine? Knowing this will help to narrow down the problem to either the connection or a specific computer system.
Do you happen to have a cell phone that has internet access? If so, is it possible for you to test connecting the problem computer to the cell phones internet connection (MiFi or mobile hotspot etc) & see if that allows you to login to SL without getting the clock error? Again, knowing the results of this test would show if the connection is the problem or something on the specific computer system.
Bit of a long shot, but have you tested that your CMOS battery is still working? If you have the clock error on more then one computer system in the house, there is no need to test this. Ref: https://www.quora.com/What-is-a-CMOS-battery-What-are-its-functions
Thanks :)

Additional ideas to get you logged in so you can at least care for your breedables:
Can you login on your problem computer using a text based viewer like Radegast? https://radegast.life/ If Radergast also fails to login, do you get the same clock error?
If you have an Android cell phone, can you login using the Lumiya Android client? This software is unfortunately not free, though it's pretty cheap. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lumiyaviewer.lumiya&hl=en_GB If you decide you want to test Lumiya, it would be a good test to try connection with Lumiya using both your home wifi connection and if this fails to login, connect using your cell phone internet access.
chronoshindou commented at 2018-10-22T04:59:41Z
whirly,
lumiya I can not get on my phone cause I do not have it and cant get it... as for the other thing I cant download it at all so no I cant not log into there... but it should not be taking 2 and a half weeks to get me back onto SL... this is getting ridiculous and im starting to get annoying and upset with this whole thing it feels like im getting a run around with this entire thing

Hi Chronoshindou,
We really want to figure this out and help you get into Second Life to help your horses. But we must have all the information requested. Please help us help you.
The sooner you provide the requested information the sooner we can figure this out.
Thanks!

Hi Chronoshindou,
CAUTION: I am NOT asking you to tell me or anyone your password. No one ever should.
That said, our records show that you changed your password on the day these problems started. Will you please delete every character in the password field at the log in screen and then press both the delete and backspace keys for good measure.
Retype your password and try to log in. Does this work?
If not: Please change your password again, but this time please use only letters (with a capital) and numbers and make it 16 characters or less.
Can you log in now?
If yes: I would be curious to know if your "old" password had any of the following characteristics: (Again, please do NOT tell me or anyone, your password.)
If not: Please let me know and we'll keep digging.
Thanks

Hi Chronoshindou,
Happy Monday. I'm sorry to hear the latest attempt didn't resolve the issue. Two more things please.
Please let me know and I will test this today.
Thanks
chronoshindou commented at 2018-10-29T17:33:48Z
I tried what u said and nothing still cant log in..... And yes u gave my permission to log into my account to figure out WHY I can not log in.... I am getting really pissed off and upset at this not u.... Please help me get on

Kyle Linden commented at 2018-10-30T14:38:51Z
Hi Chronoshindou,
I was able to successfully Admin Log In to your account this morning. I did see an odd error message "Failed to create requested inventory" immediately after login, which is sometimes due to wearing a bad asset. e.g. body part, wearable. To mitigate that being at all related, I changed your avatar to one of the Choose an Avatar menu starter avatars.
I have released Admin Log In now, please let me know if you can log in.
Thanks
chronoshindou commented at 2018-10-30T14:57:53Z
I still can not get on..... What else is there to do
Kyle Linden commented at 2018-10-31T17:00:46Z
Hi Chronoshindou,
We have one more investigative method we can try to absolutely rule out local versus network issues.
Please create a new Windows user account:
Tap the Windows icon. Select Settings. Tap Accounts. Select Family & other users. Tap "Add someone else to this PC." Select "I don't have this person's sign-in information." Select "Add a user without a Microsoft account." Enter a username, type the account's password twice, enter a clue and select Next. Select the new user name in the account list and change it to an Administrator account.
Finally click the Windows icon and change to the new account you just created. Install a fresh copy of Second Life from https://secondlife.com/support/downloads/
Now can you log in to Second Life?
Thanks
chronoshindou commented at 2018-11-01T01:35:42Z
No I can not get onto Secondlife even with the new thing that u told me.... So what do we do now this means that its not my computer its something with ur network and this I getting annoying
Kyle Linden commented at 2018-11-01T16:38:32Z
Hi Chronoshindou,
After further review, we're still suspicious of software based Anti-Virus or Firewall intercepting log in communications. There's a fairly easy way to confirm this.
(If you're using FireFox its a similar process.)
I have attached a screen shot for comparison.
Please take a screen shot of what your certificate information displays to you and attach it to this Jira. We must see it to verify this issue.
Thanks!

You can upload a screenshot to this issue using More Actions -> Attach files. Or you can just provide a link to an image uploaded with Gyazo or similar.

Hi Chronoshindou,
Please follow whirly's advice to provide us the screenshot requested. We need confirmation to continue troubleshooting this problem.

I would like to know what the hell is going on here and why its been a month since I put in the first ticket in to get this all settled and I am getting very pissed off that this issue hasn't been resolved yet and I would like to get back into SL ASAP cause I am really getting very annoyed that nothing has been done yet to figure out what is going on and why its not fixed yet and why I can not get onto SL.... there are tons of stuff that is going on that people are trying to wait for me to start like roleplays and also I have about 6 or 7 horses that are in the DEEP RED MARK in SICKNESS that I have to heal when I do get back on and its going to take much longer the longer I am off of SL cause they are in my inventory and they are just sitting there.... so please let me know what is going on and how u guy plan on fixing this cause I am seriously getting annoyed with having to wait and nothing being done about this. it should not be taking over a month to get this issue fixed and resolved for me to get back on. im sorry if I sound agitated but I am cause as I said its been over a month since the issue started.
Kyle Linden commented at 2018-11-06T18:22:39Z
Hi Chronoshindou,
I'm glad you were able provide a screen shot. However, the gyazo image you posted does not show a valid Second Life certificate fingerprint. This is not a good sign and may be the final clue we need to help you fix this issue.
Please take another screen shot showing the entire certificate information screen that was requested. If you do not do this, we will be unable to help you due to the lack of information.
Thanks

here is the full certificate that I have on my computer with what is shown I have it in 3 different pics but its the full thing when I take it on my phone its the same as u said it would be but again its different on my computer and idk why that is.

Hi Chronoshindou,
This is pretty clear evidence that some other software is interjecting itself into the security protocol. Often Anti-Virus or Firewall soft ware do this.
What are the names of any and all applications you have installed related to security, firewalls, anti-virus, parental control etc.
Thanks
chronoshindou commented at 2018-11-07T16:29:58Z
I have the drive booster 6, cccleaner, and windows defender firewall and windows security
Kyle Linden commented at 2018-11-07T16:34:52Z
Hi Chronoshindou,
Interesting, we can use CCleaner to actually help more. Open CCleaner, go to Tools > Uninstall, then in the bottom right choose Save to Textfile. It looks like this: https://prnt.sc/lfj7e4 Attach the resulting file to this Jira.
Thanks!

Hi Chronoshindou,
There is a red flag in that list. The application Search Awesome was likely unwanted, and was unintentionally installed along with other apps.
Research suggests Search Awesome is malware. https://blog.malwarebytes.com/detections/adware-searchawesome/
Please remove Search Awesome from you computer. I strongly advise you get an anti malware program to do this for you. I cannot suggest any specific anti-malware but the one offered by the company in the article above is pretty well trusted by the industry.
Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

Hi Chronoshindou,
I'm happy to hear your issue was resolved by removing the malware on your computer. Unfortunately, because the problem was with your computer being infected with malware, we are not responsible for the time away from Second Life it cost you. This log in issue wasn't even a bug with our software. Yet, I put in the time and effort to help you diagnose problems with your computer anyway, and get you back on Second Life, because we care about our residents.
If you are having additional problems then I must advise you to contact our support team for further help. https://lindenlab.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new
I know support has been following this issue, regardless, I will alert them of the current status so they will be up to speed.
Thanks!

Another person having this problem was also infected with "Search Awesome" & removing Search Awesome fixed the problem. https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/430438-login-issues/
What just happened?
login failed. often this mean that your computer's clock is set incorrectly please go to control panels and make sure the time and date are set correctly. also check that your network and firewall are set up correctly. if you continue to receive this error, please go to the support section of the secondlife.com web site and report the problem
What were you doing when it happened?
trying to log into my secondlife to get on to take care of my horses and check on things in terms of food and salt lick
What were you expecting to happen instead?
I was expecting to be able to log into secondlife so I can do what needed to be done to care for my horses
Other information
it has been 2 weeks since this happened and my horses are now in the red mark in my inventory cause they were returned by mistake by the owner of the land I was on originally.
