[BUG-226469] [Bakes On Mesh] - reopening an old bug to do with the alpha that controls the length of the shirt and undershirt layer not being long enough and leaving a gap #5002

What just happened?

When wearing a shirt or undershirt on the old system avatar, there used to be a bug where there is a gap on the bottom of the shirt from the texture that controls the length in appearance mode not extending beyond the bottom of the upper body UV properly. Since bakes on mesh has become a thing, this is now a problem again. I reported this in 2008 and nothing ever happened with it. Please fix!!

What were you doing when it happened?

Making a shirt or undershirt system layer

What were you expecting to happen instead?

There should be no visible skin through these layers at 100% length with solid textures on either the SL avatar or the bakes on mesh flagged avatar.

Here are a couple of videos that demonstrate the issue on my mesh body which has matching UV's to the SL avatar body.

And a video that shows the exact same behaviour on the SL avatar no mesh body https://i.gyazo.com/dfd35f3f57791e376e3a28fdae39b402.mp4

Extending the texture beyond the edges of the UV does not fix this issue.

Forgot to add a comment here a year ago so doing it now because after 12 years we really do need come love on the problems with these seams.

The problem between upper and lower body is not the only place we have seam issues. There has been a problem at the ankles too for as long as I've had my SL account and now that we have more mesh bodies which have updated to BoM and more people are using them, these problems are coming to light more frequently.

To make panty hose (tights) you need to use the socks and underpants combined, but when you adjust the length of the underpants or pants layer to match the length of the socks layer to form a seam they do not have the same cut-off and we are left with gaps. If your texture is solid then you can overlap these and the uneven join is barely noticeable, but when it comes to hose the textures will, more often than not, have transparency which means you cant overlap because then you have a ring around the leg.

This is an image i received from a customer this morning, this is on a mesh body which has only recently updated to BoM and is what gave my memory a nudge to remember this jira. https://gyazo.com/b31b788700689f604aebd2c868614d92
