[BUG-227070] Please organize the various photography features better #5474

How would you like the feature to work?

I'd like features like DoF, shadow settings, and ambient occlusion grouped, together, in a more accessible way. I know this is done in Firestorm, but I prefer using the LL viewer, plus Phototools in Firestorm could be organized better for photographers.

I'd be happy to provide more specifics, but I don't want to overload this issue. I'm very involved with this issue, as a SL photographer and blogger. My blog is specifically about SL/virtual photography. I'm adding a link to it, not to promote it, but to show I think it's an important topic: https://myrawildmist.wordpress.com/

Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?

I'd love to see LL focus more on virtual photography. There are tons of people in SL who are very into photography. By organizing the photography tools better, LL would demonstrate better support for this community.

It would benefit LL and the photography community by making it easier to take better photos.

I think virtual photography is a growing art form. You can see people taking more in-game photos from MMOs and single-player games. Without a doubt, there's no better place to take virtual photos than SL. It might draw more people to SL to emphasize its photography capabilities.

Since you referenced the FS phototools, I just want to mention, some of their tooltips are inaccurate. The DoF ones, in particular. But for me the bigger issue, is that the FS phototools aren't organized well for photographers. I would like to see the tools organized better for photography.

For instance, the camera controls are pretty important (e.g. saving your camera position), but are separate from the phototools. Something like saving your camera position should be right there with the other tools you need to take a good photo. I'll put together a list of what I think are important and come back to this.
