[BUG-227542] Problems with the way others see me when I get on a furniture in my Sim: Hysteria and Hysteria Lag Issues #5802

What just happened?

As of July 28th, 2019, I've had 2 problems that might be related to the latest version of Second Life Viewer and the previous version of Second Life Viewer. One problem is that my Basic FPS seems to vary when I am on my Sim: Hysteria. This has never happened before. As I walk to several points in Hysteria, the FPS changes. Now when I get on a furniture, it's much worse. The FPS lowers dramatically when I get on a furniture with just my avatar. Visitors have told me that No Poseball Furnitures seem to keep me hovering above the furniture when I get on the furniture with or without others present on the furniture at the time, and I never settle down to the furniture's present animation. This also happens when I change animations with another avatar on the furniture with me. I see myself fine however. My guest does not. I tried to use a Poseball furniture, and I was told that I am standing inside the furniture. I see myself fine. The other individual does not. I have not tried to see if this occurs with any of my alt accounts.

What were you doing when it happened?

The lag problem in Hysteria Sim whereby the FPS fluctuates dramatically occurs any time I move from place to place in my Sim. The problem with my furniture occurs any time I sit down on the furniture, but I see myself fine. My guest sees the effect and on several furnitures used that day.

What were you expecting to happen instead?

I expect that Hysteria Sim displays a constant FPS under the Statistics Panel like this used to be unless this is a Hardware issue with my PC. I also expect to be displayed to be animated properly to others on my furnitures. This seems to be only occurring in Hysteria Sim.

Other information

My Packet Loss and Ping Sim seem to vary drastically as well while in Hysteria Sim with or without moving around my avatar. This rarely happened to me before unless I relog. Simulator Time Dilation seems to be almost constantly at 0.999 in Hysteria. Simulator Sim FPS is almost constantly at 45.0, and Simulator Physics FPS is almost constantly at 45.0. This information has not been affected. Those values are what they used to be.

Hiya ItalianTony,

I went to the location you gave above & tested a few of your sit+animate items in that area on Second Life Release 6.3.0.530115 (64bit) - the new BakesOnMesh release. So far I'm unable to reproduce any problems.

One problem is that my Basic FPS seems to vary when I am on my Sim: Hysteria. This has never happened before. As I walk to several points in Hysteria, the FPS changes.

The "Basic FPS" in the viewer stats is the viewer FPS. It is totally normal for the viewer FPS to constantly vary, depending on what is currently in your scene & on your viewer settings. The viewer FPS will pretty much always vary even if your avatar stands in the same location & your just rotate or move the camera. Your viewer FPS depends on what objects are in the scene & how difficult they are to render, how high your draw distance is set to (the higher the DD, the more the viewer has to render, so generally lower FPS at higher DD) & I also notice you have your RenderVolumeLODFactor setting to set to 4.0, which you must have gone into debug settings to change. Raising your RenderVolumeLODFactor setting causes the viewer to load the higher (more detailed) LODs for objects in the scene over larger distances, which will cause a drop in the viewer FPS.

I'm getting a decent FPS while wandering around your region, ranging from 10-60FPS, depending on what is in the scene. Is there a particular location on your region where you are getting a lower than expected or fluctuating FPS that you believe isn't normal? If so, please can you give the SLURL to that location.

Is there a particular object that when you sit on it, your FPS drastically lowers? If so, please can you give a SLURL to that location & the object name that you sit on.

As far as the animations not loading correctly, so far I've not been able to reproduce this problem - I tried various animated objects rezzed at the location you gave, eg the shower, the coffin & the bed. You said that it was your guest that was having a problem seeing the animations correctly. This could well be a problem at your guests end. If your guest is using an outdated viewer without asset-http support then they will not see any animations loading. A poor internet connection at your guests end can also affect how reliably animations load for them.

Your region seems to currently have good performance - Time dilation/sim FPS/Physics FPS are all at mostly max values. The only problem I can see is "Scripts run" are averaging about 60% & there is a little bit of noticeable delay when executing scripts but it's not too bad to be honest. Your region is a homestead, so this kind of scripts delay is to be expected when there are a fair number of active) scripts on the region (1579).
