[BUG-227629] Mesh Upload Fail, Insufficient Linden Ballance with a cost of Zero? #5867

Closed sl-service-account closed 5 months ago

sl-service-account commented 4 years ago

What just happened?

Attempting to determin LI cost and Linden cost to upload a mesh build. Calculation failes with an error message stating that there is an insuficient linden ballance to upload, but no linden cost was stated. So the cost was zero or nill but failed? It appears it attempted to charge me before even telling me what the cost would be?

What were you doing when it happened?

Attempting to setup a mesh for upload.

What were you expecting to happen instead?

The bottom of the window to list the LI cost of the mesh object and the Linden cost to upload to be listed.

A mesh upload will never cost L$0. See if the upload will work when you are on a different region. If it still doesn't work, please attach a screenshot of the Mesh upload window after attempting to upload the mesh. Then click the Info Provided button.

You can test the upload for free on the Preview grid. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Preview_Grid

There was no 'Upload' button at the time of the error. I was not yet at that stage of the process. Both LI and Linden costs were nil values.

I was at the calculation stage of the process to find out what the LI and Linden costs would be if I continue with the upload.

I had pressed the 'Calculate' button to find out what those values would be for the mesh.

Added a screenshot of the upload window just before the error occurred. Note that the values for Upload Fee, Land impact, Download, Physics, and Server all read TBD.

The button I pressed was Calculate weights & fee. That's when I got the error message.

Even with the error message up, the values are still sitting at TBD.

I see the same result when clicking the Calculate weights & fee button if I do not have enough L$.

You can find the estimated upload fee in the SecondLife.log file. Look at the last number in a line like this. WARNING #Mesh# newview/llmeshrepository.cpp(764) log_upload_error : error: {'balance':i20,'identifier':'Upload_InsufficientLindenDollarBalance','message':'Insufficient L$ balance to upload','upload_price':i25}

In this case, the upload price was L$25 but I had only L$20.
