How would you like the feature to work?

after some though about Migration to AWS and meetings withlineds... i was wondering the following. 1Can SL be optimized to take advantage of more cores with one in particular dedicated to EEP wich seems to the core cause of most low end hardware clients and others for havok and so on?!

  1. it is understandbale that circa 1/3 of sl clients run on old hdware which is not designed for gaming at all, but as this hardware has likely an average age of 5 or more years... Wouldnt it be still proper to wrk on Vulkan, so that by the time You finsihed two years from now, anyhow clients running SL on hardware will be likely way less than 1/3. On top of that AMD is right a few blocks form where You are , I am sure, that You canget soem attention into devleoping something useful to Yoru cause, and at teh same time maybe create a special hardware offering to teh last mohicans when the time wil expire for Open GL..... EG low priced AMD laptops etc etc..

Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?

the 2/3s of the community that run 8 or more cores with ddr4 memory or next year on ddr5, will be able to take advantage of their hardware is the service provider updates to 2020 mainstream standards instead of 2000 ones. as new cpus from next year will be shipping with 8 core as lower tier cpu or apu based syustems, it makes sense to prepare the grid to host 8 to over 16 cores capable hardware , ddr5 and pcie 5 and above . Sl minium system requirements should be in par as playstation or above.

Dear kyle

I understand how colficting and difficult was thsi decision to move on to vulkan becuase of many second life residents, stil not supporting it becuase of beign on old hardware.

I however want to encourage you and all of your team, thinking very big support and expanded multiplatform for this API with is GI and Raytracing capabilities, in conjunciton with Amazon being one of the small enteprise to move on AMD infrastructure....You will have great longevity and if You will do Your homework right wil definitely, increase SL residents (educated guess) by 700% in 50 months.

Good luck and aim big, with a big state of the art photorealistic scalable capable future proof  render engine!!
