[BUG-230070] Outfit item lock (attachment lock or even better a rigged mesh attachment point) #7813

How would you like the feature to work?

Ever try to wear some neat new hair and then you boots come off? Or you think "I'll just try on these here bangles real quick" and your meshy head comes off.

I would like the ability to "lock" basic avatar attachments so that they can't be taken off while trying on other things.

Also, it would be real nice if creators could sort out where they are going to attach things so that hair and toe rings don't both end up attached to your right hand and fighting over it.

Even better still, make a "rigged mesh" attachment point that can accept any number of rigged mesh attachments so that they don't fight over who gets to be attached to my hand.

Why does rigged mesh need to attach to anywhere in particular anyway?

Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?

Less frustration for Flower.

Char: "if something disappears, that means you are wearing something instead of adding it"

Well, yes... I forget sometimes though...

Wear protocol simply just needs to go bye bye.

Add is all we need.

ok, I think I want a  "rigged mesh" attachment point most. It could even be called "rigged mesh attachment" or whatever. Right now that rigged mesh attachment seems to be my right hand mostly and it is super annoying.

Look. At. The. Attached. Photo. My poor right hand!

The creator sets the attachment point for the rigged mesh. Unfortunately, a lot of creators just leave it on the default attachment point, which is the right hand. You can however choose to attach rigged mesh to any attachment point you like by right-clicking it in inventory -> Attach to -> Choose your attachment point.

I don't see the point of adding a specific attachment point for rigged mesh. Unless it's the default attachment point, a lot of creators will still have their rigged mesh set to attach to the right hand. Your inventory doesn't know if the object you are attaching is mesh, rigged or not. So it's not possible to just automatically attach rigged mesh to a specific rigged mesh attachment point.

In regards to locking certain avatar attachments in place, so they are not removed when you use wear or replace outfit etc, you can already do this on third party viewers that support RLV, like Firestorm. See http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LSL_Protocol/RestrainedLoveAPI#Clothing_and_Attachments

Hello Flower,

We are working on a solution to this particular problem and may implement some version of this request in the future.

Thanks!
