This is fixed on http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Release/3.8.7.308081 https://bitbucket.org/lindenlab/viewer-bear/commits/38e960d36146d87f27d73e03f2f13d7d87dd3b56
Behaviour has changed though. Previous expected behaviour on the LL viewer was double clicking on a link in COF for system clothing or alpha or tattoo layer did not removes it from your avatar, now it does. That's okay, TPV's have that behaviour anyway.
This is a regression of BUG-6578
Steps to Reproduce
Login on Second Life 3.8.5 (305531) Sep 29 2015 18:40:23 (Second Life Release).
Open inventory and open Current Outfit folder (COF).
Double left click on each item in your COF.
Observe what happens especially when double clicking on the skin, shape, hairbase and eyes links in COF.
Observed Behaviour
Double clicking an attachment link in COF removes it from your avatar and removes the link from COF - expected behaviour
Double clicking on a link in COF for system clothing or alpha or tattoo layer removes it from your avatar and removes the link from COF - not expected behaviour.
Double clicking on a link in COF for skin, shape, hairbase or eyes removes it from your avatar and removes the link from COF - not expected behaviour.
Once these 4 base body parts are removed from your avatar, the viewer keeps popping up the warning message shown in Fig 1.
When your skin, shape, hairbase or eyes are removed from your avatar, your avatar appears ruthed to you and a cloud to everyone else.
If you relog in this state, you are then a cloud on your screen and will obviously never rez unless you do some avatar repairs.
When in this state, if you go to a saved outfit within the My Outfits folder, Replace outfit is greyed out.
You can force a replace outfit by dragging the outfit folder onto your avatar - however once this is done, your avatar still never rezzes.
You need to replace outfit a second time in order for your avatar to correctly rez on your screen.
Expected Behaviour
You should never be able to remove your skin, shape, hairbase or eyes from your avatar in any manner - doing so will always result in a bakefail.
Double cliking on the skin, shape, hairbase or eyes link in COF should not remove these bodyparts from your avatar.
Double clicking on a link in COF for system clothing or alpha or tattoo layer should not remove these items from your avatar and the COF
Other Information
Does not reproduce on previous release http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Release/3.8.4.305119 .
