[BUG-231910] Add "Sci-fi" to the communities on the Marketplace frontpage #9282

How would you like the feature to work?

add 'Sci-fi' to the existing communities tab of the Second Life Marketplace frontpage.

Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?

Science-fiction has a large and diverse community within Second Life, but does not have an official community category.

  1. Existing items on Marketplace

At the time of writing (2nd March 2022), the existing communities have the following amount of items for their community category: Anime - 690,221 Fantasy - 321,086 Furry - 97,932 Gor - 92,085 Goth - 153,650 Steampunk - 59,200 Tiny - 38,600 Vampire - 111,964

Searching for “Sci-fi” brings up 46,347 matching items, which is already larger than the smallest community category (Tiny). If we take into account that the numbers of the existing community search-terms are already bolstered by the visibility of these search-terms, then this number would likely grow much higher.

  1. Presence in the Destination Guide

The Second Life Destination Guide has a existing dedicated category to “Sci-Fi”, with three pages of destinations:

Over half of the Marketplace Community search-terms are present here as destination categories: Fantasy - 29 Furry -15 Steampunk - 17 Vampire - 11 Anime - 17

Compared to these, Sci-Fi has 22 entries in the destination guide which would place it at 2nd, only behind Fantasy’s 29 entries.

Issue accepted. We have no estimate when it may be implemented. Please see future release notes for this fix.
