[BUG-231933] Clicking on touch in the edit menu on an object makes the object invisible #9302

How would you like the feature to work?

For some reason when I'm editing an object and I click on the touch option, the object becomes invisible and I cannot make it visible again. I'm not sure if this is a bug or something, but it is really annoying and should be fixed.

Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?

The touch feature feels useless because why would there be an option to make objects permanently invisible and useless? I've had to spend L$30 to buy another object because the original was permanently invisible and useless.

Hiya Jake,

Do you happen to have "Hide Selected" enabled under Advanced -> Highlighting & Visibility? This option will make any object invisible when you have it in edit/when it is selected. If you do not see the Advanced menu in the top menu bar, go to Preferences -> Advanced -> tick "Show advanced menu".

I'll check. It didn't make it visible again. It was invisible before I selected it.

Hi Jake. Another possibility is that some of the HUD may be turned invisible while the remaining visible part of the HUD is off the edge of the viewer window. You can edit the HUD, then scroll the mouse wheel down to temporarily shrink all the HUD objects and see if there is one beyond the border of the window..

This viewer is not supported by Linden Lab. For support with third party viewers, please contact that viewer's developers. The official list of TPVs can be found here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory

If you can reproduce this problem on the official Second Life Viewer, please update this issue with information on the supported viewer version accordingly.

Ok. I've tried to fix it in the main SL Viewer and it's still invisible. I just need to fix the texture.

It appears this HUD is modifiable. Have you made any edits to it & maybe accidentally broken it?

You should be able to get the skunk head/HUD redelivered for free because it's copyable. If you unpack a new HUD, is it still invisible? If you are going to try & mod the HUD, it's best to edit a copy of the HUD incase you make a mistake, then you still have the unmodded original.

Is this the head/HUD you are having problems with? https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/SKNK-Skunk-Head/9481418
