This was something I have thought about filing with Firestorm.
I want the ability to change the IM chime for group chats per group.
I also want the ability to change the IM chime for friends and the sound played when they log on and the sound played when they log off.
How would you like the feature to work?
Have you ever watched a video, or read the news, and you get an IM? And you might be expecting a message from somebody. But when you checked, it was a group IM. So why not have one type of sound for group IMs, and a different one for people. There might be another one for conference calls. One could go ding ding.
Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?
It would allow you to ignore group IMs, and only check for personal IMs. If you get an IM from a person, then you will know it was from a person, without even looking at it.
