This issue has been linked to a Canny post: Objects/Textures with Shininess turn green when camming closely. :tada:
Please see the images uploaded by the user in one of their comments on the Canny report. It's possible this could be related to https://github.com/secondlife/viewer/issues/1650 or their AMD card mac (specifically an AMD Radeon HD - FirePro D700)
Issue has been reproduced on an AMD mac
Using a PBR viewer (LL, FS), with Mirrors set to "on", view or cam closely to an object with Binn-Phong "Shininess" set to any setting other than "none". The face with a "shine" setting will turn green as you approach. This can happen with SL water, as well any other object with any degree of shininess.
