Is it correct that 1024 images can be set as previews? #2892

In some cases, 1024 images can be set for the inventory preview image, in other cases, they cannot.

When selecting from the texture selection window in the image window, 1024 resolution images can be selected, but when trying to drag and drop from inventory, an error message appears.

Which is correct? I would like it to be consistent.

Inconsistency with applying larger than 256x256 images to a thumbnail. Via Texture Picker, any size texture can be selected and applied as a thumbnail. Image

Via drag and dropping a texture onto the "Change Item Image" floater, the below popup appears: Image
