Ambient technology is basically a trending technology that allows electronic systems to be able to recognize and respond to humans hence supporting them in their daily activities. It is built upon several concepts that include, pervasive computing, ubiquitous computing, profiling, context awareness and human centric computer interaction design.

Its applications are diverse, from homes to work spaces, from public places, street lights to hospital systems. All these are areas in which this trending technology can be used to enhance efficiency of activities. The advancements in sensor technologies will be advantageous to this technology.
