SSLSCAN - Cannot Resolve Hostname #7

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Windows 7 (x64) Fully patched.

I unpacked sslscan-1.8.2-win-r7 to C:\Windows. C:\Windows has sslscan, and the
two dlls (libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll). All files are from the SSLScan ZIP
file.

When attempting to scan a host, I receive "ERROR: Could not resolve hostname
www.cigital.com: Error(203)." When I switch to IP address, I receive the same
error (but with an IP instead of hostname)..

Right-Click on SSLScan, choose properties, and set the compatibility to Win 98.

This seems to work for me..

Even easier, in the command prompt type the following before executing SSLScan:
set __COMPAT_LAYER=Win98
