Hi Zack,
This sounds useful, but I don't quite understand what you mean by adding tags to the repository. I am familiar with adding annotated tags to particular commits (i.e. git tag -a v1.0 -m "First release"), but I don't think that is quite what you have in mind. What specifically do you mean by adding tags to out NOAA 'Omics repositories? And do you want us to add noaa-omics-software and noaa-omics-education to all of our repos, or only noaa-omics-software to software and noaa-omics-education to pedagogical material.
Thanks! I hope you are well.

Hi Phil and Eric,
As a part of the NOAA 'Omics Technical Portal https://noaa-omics-technical-portal.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html we are trying to add relevant tags to different NOAA 'Omics related software on Github. Would you be able to the following tags to your NOAA 'Omics repositories so we can link and search them effectively: noaa-omics-software and noaa-omics-education.
Thanks for your help!
Best,
Zack

Hi Eric,
Thanks for the quick response! I clearly used the wrong terminology within GitHub. I should have said "topics" not tags. Apologies for the confusion.
Topics are under the Repository Details settings where you can change the Description, Website, and Topics.
So far we have the following topics: noaa-omics-study, noaa-omics-software, noaa-omics-data, and noaa-omics-education. Feel free to include whatever topic or topic(s) are relevant to the repository. And if you think there should be any additional topics that start with noaa-omics-XYZ we'd be happy to add the terms.
Thanks for your help!
Best,
Zack
