RTL8192CU works for me on Raspberrypi4b with Ubuntu 20.04.
I tried so far with no luck... Those were listed with ath9k, but with the new version all of them have a Realtek driver, so I doesn't work anymore, that is weird. Like old devices work better than the new one... TL-WN781ND TL-WN881ND TL-WN722N TL-WN821N T2U plus AC600 TL-WN725N.
The problem is that the chipset linked here is so old, it is not used in commercially available devices. I can't find ath9k devices now, and I'm not sure if the ath10k or ath11k will work. And for me this is odd that new devices won't work like the older one used to. I'm giving up, I searched everywhere, the only documentation on "active monitor mode" is there, why I can't find this feature elsewhere?
Hey ! I searched for the active monitor mode a lot, and I tried to find an adapter that support it. I found a GitHub that is very well maintained and I discussed the issue with the owner. Here is a link for the discussion that can help you find an adapter that will work for you. thanks to him, we now have a very modern device list that will work with OWL.
as the subject says - I want to replace the intel mini-pcie wifi card in my boat computer with one that supports OWL, so that I can setup an easy dropbox-like setup for visitors to upload photos and videos for later editing. OWL and opendrop seem like maybe they can do exactly that.
so far all I know is that my Intel card isn't supported, and the only information about what cards are supported is a link to an issue where someone's card isn't, and a link to another issue where one card in particular is. it's a serious barrier to entry that apparently the only way to find out if a random card is supported is to buy that card and try running the code on it, and if it doesn't run then you're out of luck.
is there a better way to do this?
