Amazon is doing a project, where they want drones to deliver packages to consumers directly from their warehouses with autonomous drones. The project is called Prime Air. They want to keep a low delivery time, so each of their warehouses should be ready to deliver the packages fast and have enough drones
Things we could look at:
Drone traffic, how can they move without interfering with each other and the outside world? For example, they might want to fly by a tall building, and not over it.
If all deliveries are done by drone, how are delivery times effected if many people order at the same time? For example a busy warehouse, where the drones are constantly coming and collecting a packages? How are charging times effecting what they can do? How congested does it get? How many drones are needed to cover all demand?
If some drones randomly disappear (vandalism) how fast would they have to be replaced to keep up with the demand of the warehouse? Could another similar package be delivered to the recipient without delaying delivery time too much? Could also be that nearby drones went to see what happened, and could call the cops on the vandals, how would this effect the rest of the system?
