Lost connection when adding things #22

For some reason, I can no longer add things (I added something to my list, then this error started happening and I haven't been able to add anything in probably a dozen tries since).

Connecting the Safari web inspector to my phone, I see that as/after I make a successful call to the barcode lookup API, Firebase throws an error saying the connection has been lost.

This wasn't happening before. Not sure why it's happening. Restarted my phone, but same error occurs.

Not sure if this is the same bug, but there was an unhandled Promise exception happening when trying to add a scanned thing. That's fixed. I've been able to add things with no problems since.
