sesam svn is not building with ubuntu maven #92

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Checkout sesam from svn
2.try to run mvn install, first in the sesam-os-base-parent directory then in
the root directory.
3.You can also try the -DskipTests switch.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It should install the pom without any errors

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
spundun@ubuntu:/tmp/sesam-read-only$ mvn -v
Apache Maven 2.2.1 (rdebian-8)
Java version: 1.7.0_21
Java home: /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-amd64/jre
Default locale: en_US, platform encoding: UTF-8
OS name: "linux" version: "3.8.0-19-generic" arch: "amd64" Family: "unix"
spundun@ubuntu:/tmp/sesam-read-only$ uname -a
Linux ubuntu 3.8.0-19-generic #30-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 1 16:35:23 UTC 2013 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Please provide any additional information below.
Notice that with and without -DskipTests, it's getting different errors. So
there are potentially two different and independent problems here.

I'm attaching a log of my commands and outputs. Note that I used gnu screen to
make the log so it has a bunch of control characters also.

For the first case, when you don't have sesam-os-base-parent in your local repo:
- you must have correct settings.xml pointing to the snapshot repo
- if you don't you have to install it manually
- I have deployed the newest snapshot version to repo to be sure & tested it

For the second case with the sesam-selenium-api, I've noticed that you are
using Maven 2. I am using Maven 3 and there I don't have such problem. I have
the same JDK. Try it with newer Maven if you can...

Please close this issue.

You're right I was not using maven 3 . I had also not read the HowTo wiki so I
wasn't using the settings.xml file.

"I have deployed the newest snapshot version to repo to be sure & tested it"

Can you deploy it to an online repo? If you have already, then can you give me
the link to it?

I created a newer issue because I made many obvious mistakes in this report.
