@ianstormtaylor I want your input on this Work is not finished (tests are broken/missing), but you can already take a look on my idea. I want to know if you are ok with that.

Hey! I'm down with the idea, hacking on a sketch of a way I think we can simplify the logic, should be able to PR it for you to checkout later today
