I'm really honestly not up to the task of taking the formatting control features to the level you're suggesting.
This tool was never meant to replace more fully featured page layout tools or support the full page layout features in ABC, mostly because abcjs itself wasn't really meant to be a full tunebook layout solution.
The page formatting, multiple PDF export formats, Table of Contents, Index, and sharing/play links I do support I've had to do on my own independent of abcjs.
You can very easily create PDF tunebooks that play the tunes via share links as well as do batch .mp3 and tune image export of the tunes in multiple formats for use in other applications. That is my primary focus for the tool.
That's the best I can offer at this point.
That makes sense. I guess I'll keep making HTML tunebooks using the python script I made for the 9 note tunebook :)
Hi,
It would be really useful if the tool's PDF output could support more advanced text formatting similar to 'lilypond-book', which would allow the easy inclusion of textual descriptions and other stuff into the output document.
Also, if the tool could support HTML output with real-time content rendering, then it would allow for the creation of tune books with audio playback. I manually made a version of Jack Campin's 9 note tunebook with playable audio some time ago, which gives an idea of what I'd be looking for:
