Add path existence checking to client and corresponding test #6

This is a fresh pull request containing the path existence check in the client and the corresponding test - it was made using a branch created from the latest version of selectel:master, so no rebase was required. The previous pull request was closed, as I explained in that one.

Thanks! I've been doing a lot of API brooming in the last few weeks, so this doesn't merge cleanly. I've merged it manually in 4a52a6d.
