screenshot and state slot problem and files improvements #52
An atariage user: The default setting for MAME/MESS should be F12. If you press the F12 button a screenshot will be saved in your snap folder.
I tested it on the earliest version of MAME4droid 2024 and the snap folder doesn't generate any files! MAME menu: Start + Coin
Android OS has a Pictures folder, but you don't provide an option for this folder, only Internal no External
Internal: Android/data/com.seleuco.mame4d2024/files/snap
External: Pictures/MAME4droid
Why not MAME4droid 2024, because it will be renamed in 2025.
Most modern emulators have at least 10 State Slots, but MAME4droid can only use ABCD as State Slots. D-Pad can't be used as State Slots. Why not use the built-in QWERTY virtual keyboard as State Slots?Saved Slots will be filled with different colors. After deleting slots they will become transparent color.
Why is there no State Slot Manager, Windows users can create, open and delete TXTs, but why can I only save and load States but not delete them?
That's why I mentioned that virtual keyboard keys filled with different colors will become transparent when States is deleted
Normally you can't move files to Android/data. but you can add access to the Files app that comes with Android Studio and it will appear in the folder list. You can use the AOSP (e.g. LineageOS) Files app to copy or move files to Android/data, or to copy or move Android/data to other folders
Of course, files under Android/data can also be deleted using this Files app
For some unofficial Androids (especially Chinese brands that come with bloatware) this method may not be effective. Because they hide the official Files app.
For example, this touchHLE requires the official Android Files app to copy the files to Android/data
Files app opened with touchHLE to copy files to Android/data will crash, you need to open Android built-in Files app yourself
Its folder will only appear in the list on the left after you install touchHLE!
