Define 'grandfathered in' #320

Grandfathering comes from the Grandfather Clause of the Jim Crow Era. Grandfathering is what disenfranchised Black voters.

Colloquially it is used (especially in business contexts), to mean adopted in with old rules when new rules apply elsewhere.
