Enable Vale

[sellout]

Aside from enabling checking on this project, it adds a few other broader features:

• some generated files are automatically excluded from Vale checking
• direnv's layout dir is configurable (and won't be modified if set to null)
• the Vale module will now work with XML (if given a proper transform) and Asciidoctor
