GWTEventService + GAE #20

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. try to deploy the app to GAE, or enable GAE on the eclipse project
2. calling addEvent(...) causes java.security.AccessControlException: access
denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission modifyThreadGroup)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
no exception :)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
gwt 2.0.3, gae 1.3.4, ges 1.1.1

Please provide any additional information below.
i found a comment that there's no permission to use threads in gae, if it's the
reason, do you plan supporting gae in future?

That isn't an issue. GAE (AppEngine) isn't supported, yet, caused by a lot of
limitations of the AppEngine. We will give it a try again with version 1.2.

That was already reported here:

Hi,
gae 1.4.0 has been released and contains Channels for communication between
clients (and server push).
Are you planning to make a new release for gwteventservice that runs on gae ?
