Javascript Refactor

Date: 2/22/17

Purpose: To clean up and standardize the JS. To refactor the JS to be more modular, and to make sure we are calling functions correctly.

State of PR: First refactor.

Request: Please QA this feature and check to make sure the code is clean and correct.
