Cleanup, linting, error handling #59

@mirceaalexandru could you please review especially the auth error handling commit. Added error handling that might impact functionality

I think this should be merged (after adding error handling in some places) and after that a separate issue should fix the create_reset proble,. I will create a separate issue to start a discussion on this.
