Issue list cleanup #158

Hi hasseily

Sorry for assigning the issue directly to you,
but you are the only one I know which knows the internals of the application ;)

Today I had some time and provided few fixes in the code I have contributed.
Then I went trough the issue list and tried to comment / close some of them, as 
I saw the list has grown over 80 issues.

I can notice there are many issues with status NEW which are opened since 2009.
If you have some time, please go trough the list and accept / reject the 
issues, so that we end up with a smaller clean list of issues that other 
contributors will find easier to manage.
