Can't we just move from master to gh-pages by renaming the branch?
Aren't there other side effects with different repo names, i.e. we can't simply use sensebox.github.io
anymore, but sensebox.github.io/newreponame
? Or does a CNAME file fix this? I know we are going to switch over to the TLD at some point, just asking for development sake
no it is a problem with repo or user github pages repos. maybe @ubergesundheit can say more about it
It seems that my knowledge about organization github pages is outdated. The problems with attaching a domain to an organziation because of the load balancers of github seem to be resolved. I would suggest you just try it out (ie creating a CNAME file and creating both the A (or ALIAS) and CNAME DNS records)
we have to rename the sensebox.github.io repository to website or something else. and move to gh-pages branch.
there are some issues with CNAME files in repos named after github pages guideline xxx.github.io and master branches
