Waiting for reply about why EXPORT is not needed in some cases. If it does no harm, maybe go ahead and merge?

Waiting for feedback on questions about the requested changes. Can I get a reply to them, or un-block if the changes are determined to do no harm?

So out of curiosity, since I guess I was confused - does this affect the re-sampling of point (RGB or mono) samples loaded from file or built-in? or does it just affect the resolution of the meshing of polynomials? (I thought it affected all paths, but Jeremy suggested just the latter, and my cursory re-review suggests that as well...)

This affects the resolution of the internal mesh that is built for rendering. That is independent of the mechanism used to specify the distortion. It should apply to all methods of specifying distortion correction.
