I get the above error when trying to install through emacs' 'package-install'

Sorry for the late reply. Is this still an issue? I just tried with emacs -Q (GNU Emacs 24.5.1), installed package adoc-mode 20160314.1430 from http://melpa.milkbox.net/packages/, and it worked for me. If the problem still persists for you, could you please give more details what you do and what then happens?
