This should close all outstanding pull requests concerning dependencies. I've rolled the changes into this branch
[X] Update Changelog following the conventions laid out here
[X] RuboCop passes
[X] Existing tests pass
Main purpose is to deal with the upstream change concerning the English gem being yanked. The rest is clean up to get this building in travis again.
