I have been calling Champlain Physical Plant to see if they will mount something to a "door" made of a piece of scrap wood
Alternately, I could see if Dion Locksmith (local business) could do this instead.
Determined using 2x4s (around 1.6" actual) would be ideal for the door frame. Lowes sells 2x4 cutoffs, and I wouldn't have to make very many cuts to get something workable
Hinges would probably be cheap at a locksmith / ReSource as opposed to Home Depot or Lowes
Got a quote from Dion Locksmith to mount a doorknob sub $100 WITHOUT purchasing a lockset
Locksmith suggested upgrading the size to 5"x8"
Went to Home Depot - Inspected lumber Considering using a cut piece of 2x9 for the "door" and the base and 2x4s for the frame
Installed door, collaborated with Physical Plant to get the doorknob
