Hijacks hjspilt files #189

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
For some reason, unarchiver tries to open split files (extension ending in 001,
002, etc), even
though there is no such extension in its preferences. After changing the .001
files to open with the
proper app (AJoiner), eventually Unarchiver hijacks them again and tries to
open them.

The Unarchiver does not "hijack" files. OS X handles filetype associations, and
is very bad
at it. The Unarchiver lists .001 and so on as supported types, because split
zip files use
these extensions. OS X then notices this and assigns it to handle them. Use
"Get Info" to
change it by hand, that's the only way to get around it.
