Expected Result

What happened instead?

it cannot read non-english characters. I assume is an issue with this version of the code since last year the same code was running ok with non-english characters.

What makes you think that is a bug?

Ricard_Sánchez.jpg has non english character and this is highlighted in error message.

Sorry, maybe I'm not sure what's a bug or a different issue. But other commands in Python can handle these characters but DeepFace cannot. Is there a way around that you can suggest? thanks a lot!

Some versions of opencv cannot handle non English character. That is why, we added that control in opencv.

Sorry to stay on this, but is there anyway to upload file with names with non-english characters into Deepface? or is it the only way around to rename all files?

you can read it with opencv and pass the numpy array instead of image path
