bluetooth lost connection if mobile phone flip has closed #4

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open gps logger
2. start gps logging
3. close the mobile phone flip

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Output is correct, but if i close the flip of my mobile phone, after some
minutes i heard a sound of crashed bottles and gps logger tell me that
bluetooth connection has lost. If i keep mobile phone flip opened this
doesn't happen, and i can record for hours without any problems.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I'm using v2.0alpha4 version, my mobile phone is a motorola motorola pebl
u9, this is a motomagx (unix kernel inside) that uses midlet.

Please provide any additional information below.

Hi,

Can you tell me if Bluetooth link is getting lost only while running GPS Logger?

Try, for example, sending a big file over bluetooth and flip the cover in the
process: will the operation succeed?

I'm really angry at the phone manufacturers who frequently cut corners severely
while
implementing various things: my wife's Samsung folder only supports Bluetooth
with
built-in system sofware but no JSR-82 (Bluetooth API for Java midlets) at all.
Unfortunately, there are also too many device-specific incompatibilities for
other
phones as well.

It would be very helpful to know if some other midlet doesn't have this issue
(Bluetooth link getting torn) after the phone cover being closed. How do other
BT
midlets behave on your phone model?

If this is the underlying Bluetooth stack/JSR-82 implementation issue, there
may be
nothing more to do except replacing the firmware (if available) or the phone
itself.

Has anybody else also tried the GPS Logger on other folding phones with JSR-82
(BT
API) support?

Can anybody confirm that this is the GPSLogger bug and not just a "feature" of
certain
phone makers? (please see my comments above)
