RetroBSD does not boot on qemu (Ubuntu 14.04 - VirtualBox 6.1.34) #14

I installed Ubuntu 14.04 on a VM and built qemu from source code. I tried using the RetroBSD provided image and it doesn't boot. It says: "No root filesystem available" and RetroBSD is in a constant loop in asking the user to manually specify the root filesystem.
