doesn't the original technique have commercial value? Could you please explain the question?

This is an active research area among researchers which has gained more attention in the recent times. I think the idea in general is very valuable, commercially as well as in the research aspect but we are still not quite there yet with any solution that can provide a seamless user experience without any blurred edges or near perfect realistic images.
