After an update of all packages, I now get an error after invoking reghdfe

This error is generated for me after even simple regressions, such as:

. sysuse auto, clear
. reghdfe price mpg, absorb(length) cluster(length)
                 <istmt>:  3499  fixed_effects() not found
r(3499);

Downgrading to the version posted on SSC solves the problem.
