GNOME: gtk4 applications are crashing with software rendering #187

Reproduce:

  1. Setup GNOME VM

    • clone img scripts
    • create a virt-manager-vm image
    • boot it
    • install gdm gnome-console gnome-control-center
    • add a local user

  2. Turn of 3d Accel

    • Turn off 3d acceleration under "Virtio" Screenshot from 2024-03-12 10-53-20
    • Turn off opengl under "Display Spice" Screenshot from 2024-03-12 10-54-19

  3. Boot in GNOME

    • open gnome-console and try to resize the application to full screen
    • open settings, try to open a different subsettings pane
