URI and IRI support?

• The rust URI crate is marked as deprecated, and suggests to use this crate instead.
• The rust IRI crate was last updated 5 years ago and I was unable to find the sources.
• This issue template notes that this crate does not implement RFC 3986 (which is about URIs)

Could you maybe clearly state what this crates scope is in regard to URI and IRI? ... and if you happen to know, if there is other rust code that deals with it?

sorry for this not being a bug report.. I could not find clear statements about this, and though documenting it here might help others too. thanks already!
