without censorship
Debatable so far 😅
That is basically the same thing as countries that block the Tor network or countries that block Gab. Each service can only do its best to make sure people still have access despite country wide blocks. I assume the developers of Sessions are working on it.
Indeed. I hope so too...because otherwise there is no point in any of that :upside_down_face:
how about using something that ain't "known primarily as a platform for radical right-wing communities"? diaspora, nostr, fediverse, lemmy, bastyon, there's PLENTY of options without nazi scum
btw, Session already uses odysee.
gab is a breeding ground for right-wing conspiracy theories, no.

You have been reading hit job articles on Gab. There is nothing on the internet that requires articles to be true. Ironically, information on Gab tends to have a much higher accuracy then information on other news sites. Things that were called made up years ago are now accepted as common knowledge today.
I did look into other options. The problem with the Fediverse is moderator harassment and mass censorship that occurs on that platform. Enough server operators and the leadership of the development team go out of their way to accomplish mass censorship. They even put poison code in their apps that sabotage your ability to connect with server they don't like. I heard it split the Fediverse into two different groups of servers but I haven't looked into this later part. There is a huge issue with people joining the Fediverse not knowing this issue and not knowing which type of server they joined. The recommended defaults are usually the ones causing all these problems.

That would be another hit job article. There is nothing on on the internet that requires articles to be true. when it comes to fascism: "There is nothing on the internet that requires articles to be true..." when it comes to harassment: "Oh that's a reason to abandon the platform!"
what a double-standart. but i've mentioned more than just fediverse. use arweave, nostr or bastyon -- there is no censorship.

That is why most people abandoned the Fediverse. The fascism of people imposing their view and banning everyone and every server that did not align with their views. It got so bad you saw ridiculous things like people being banned for saying they liked the recent Harry Potter game. The harassment from the software developers and moderators also scared people away.

Lemmy is more of a forum and the developer of it hard coded censorship into it. I was talking about social media like X. I haven't heard of the others you mentioned. I thought they were alternative clients for the Fediverse like diaspora as there are multiple programs that access the Fediverse. I'll have to learn about them but I suspect they have a far smaller populations then Gab.

This statement is delusional at best and malicious at worst. Gab is a well-known right wing echo chamber and should not be considered free and fair by any means.

From Pew Research. https://www.pewresearch.org/journalism/2022/10/06/the-role-of-alternative-social-media-in-the-news-and-information-environment/
Almost all alternative social media sites studied moderate content to some extent and also give users the option to do so
Not with standing their allegiance to free speech, almost all of the sites analyzed have at least some restrictions on content. Every one of the sites, with the exception of Gab, moderates user content beyond the existing legal requirements to remove illegal content and cooperate with law enforcement requests.1 In some cases, sites have agreed to certain restrictions due to outside pressure from governments or mobile app stores like Apple’s App Store or the Google Play Store.
In other words, Gab is the only one that doesn't force censorship on its users that Pew Research can find. Gab follows the law to the letter and does not censor for personal preference reasons.
It one of the few places on the internet you could have a discussion on Covid 19. That discussion was banned in most places. It was also a valuable resource for hearing what was going on with the Hurricane Helene disaster. It provided accurate and fast information from people on the ground.
From what I can tell, there is a lot of state actors that have accounts and they post a lot of crazy and hateful content to scare people away from the site. These massive bot farms that post content in large quantities end up getting their accounts removed as your not allowed to have a bot farms post tons of messages on Gab.

yet, Gab has more far-right-wingers than other communities
Gab is the only plaform, which creators support ridiculous far-right theories like radical antisemitism & "white genocide" conspiracy theories. Doesn't sound like it's "the state actors flooding with stuff", while poor creators are unaware of such nasty things happening :)
gab is also known for spreading specially more covid conspiracy theories than reasonable/intelligent covid dialogues:
feel free to discuss COVID on nostr, bastyon, fediverse, session, farcater, mastodon, bluesky, lemmy, disapora, eth push, odysee or basically any other decentralized platform, where your censorship possibility technically is even lower, than on gab, and which is not overtaken by nazis.
Is there an existing request for feature?
What feature would you like?
Session app helps people communicate with security, privacy and without censorship. It is strange that Session uses many social media platforms but not the one that actually gives people the ability to communicate without censorship. www.gab.com is one of the largest general social media platforms in the US ( only X/X related and Facebook/Facebook related) is larger. It is the largest one that in the world that allows communication without censorship. Sessions should open an account on Gab.
Anything else?
