Improve help option handling and version display #188

Update commands and options in README and reST docs
Add blank lines between commands in README for improved readability
Do not raise an exception when requesting help for a non-existing command
Exit with return code 0 if help was explicitly requested
Add capability to show version with --version option
Adapt 901 docs tests to the new pretty help format
