mac(m1) -> linux(x86) cross-compilation failure

I was trying to crosscompile my project which uses rust redis client (https://github.com/mitsuhiko/redis-rs.git) from my mac(m1) to linux(x86).

I have redis with tls feature enabled

first i tried to compile with without any additional flags

Then I tried to supply path to openssl

OPENSSL_DIR=$(greadlink -f $(brew --prefix openssl@1.1)) cargo build --release --target x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu

and received a huge compilation error message https://dpaste.org/UFE3

P.S. I use this for cross-compilation

Either point it towards a copy of OpenSSL built for your target or enable the vendored cargo feature to have a copy built for you.
